Project Lead The Way (PLTW)

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) provides transformative learning experiences for our students.  PLTW lessons create an engaging, hands-on classroom environment that empowers students to develop in-demand knowledge and skills which allow them to thrive. PLTW is taught by a trained Launch teacher with the resources and support needed to engage students in real-world learning.

Each PLTW Launch module is aligned to Standards and is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) based.  The modules engage students in cross-disciplinary activities that spark a lifelong love of learning and build knowledge and skills in areas including computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. In addition, each module empowers students to develop essential skills such as problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and perseverance.

These pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science not only engage students in hands-on activities, projects, and problems; empower them to solve real-world challenges; inspire them to reimagine how they see themselves but are also preparing our students for careers only imagined at this time.   According to The New York Times, 65 percent of elementary school students’ future jobs aren’t a reality just yet, and many of them are STEM careers.
